Cycling Nature Experience

Barcelona natural park

Natural parks of Barcelona at an unhurried pace

There is a Barcelona that doesn't appear on beach postcards or in traditional travel guidebooks. A Barcelona of endless backroads, iconic mountain passes, and a quietness only broken by the sound of your tires against the asphalt.

Unpushed backroads

A few years ago, when I was completely hooked on ultra-distance riding, I imagined this route with a single idea in mind connecting all the natural parks surrounding Barcelona… in one single push.

I wanted to set it up with my friends. See how far we were capable of pushing ourselves. But while I was mapping out the course, something unexpected happened. Every time I passed through a village like Mura, Rupit, or Montseny, I found myself wanting to linger a bit longer. Stop for a coffee. Talk to the locals. Enjoy roads where not a single soul passed by.

That's when I realized the problem wasn't the route. It was the way we were riding it. I went back home and started from scratch. I split the journey into five stages, making sure each day ended in a spot truly worth arriving at.

Because I discovered that some rides aren't built to see how fast you can finish them.

They are built to be savored.

Is this adventure for you?

This trip is designed for cyclists who enjoy the road in a freer, more mindful way. It’s a good fit for you if…

DAY 0 · ARRIVAL

Arrival Terrassa

01
ETAPA 1 · 74 KM · +1.300 M

Terrassa Caldes de Montbui

ON THE ROUTE

We leave Terrassa behind and head straight into the forests of Sant Llorenç del Munt Natural Park. Quiet backroads, Coll d’Estenalles and the winding climb to Granera await us.

WHAT MAKES THIS STAGE SPECIAL

This is your first taste of the Barcelona we want to show you: mountains, forests and quiet roads just a few kilometres from one of Europe’s most visited cities. We finish in Caldes de Montbui, known for its thermal waters.

02
STAGE 2 · 72 KM · +1.500 M

Caldes de Montbui Montseny

ON THE ROUTE

We leave Caldes behind and begin gaining elevation along a succession of quiet secondary roads. Little by little, the landscape changes as we enter the vast forests of the Montseny massif.

WHAT MAKES THIS STAGE SPECIAL

Today we enter one of Catalonia’s great natural areas. Traffic fades away, the mountains take centre stage and we finish the day surrounded by the landscapes of the Montseny Biosphere Reserve.

03
STAGE 3 · 80 KM · +1.900 M

Montseny Rupit

ON THE ROUTE

The queen stage. We leave Montseny behind on narrow, quiet roads before heading towards the Sau Reservoir and the rock walls of Collsacabra. An 80 km stage where the mountains set the rhythm of the day.

WHAT MAKES THIS STAGE SPECIAL

After nearly 2,000 metres of climbing, we ride into Rupit. We swap the bike for a walk through cobbled streets, stone houses and one of Catalonia’s most characterful medieval villages.

04
STAGE 4 · 88 KM · +800 M

Rupit Sant Fruitós del Bages

ON THE ROUTE

After several days of accumulated climbing, today the legs get a little more room to breathe. We begin with a long descent from the mountains before continuing along quiet secondary roads through fields and small inland villages.

WHAT MAKES THIS STAGE SPECIAL

It’s one of those days to lift your head and simply ride. A steady rhythm, quiet roads and the rural landscapes of inland Catalonia accompany us for much of the day.

05
STAGE 5 · 100 KM · +1.700 M

Sant Fruitós del Bages Terrassa

ON THE ROUTE

We save a big day for the finale. 100 km of mountain roads take us towards one of Catalonia’s most iconic landmarks: the Montserrat massif.

WHAT MAKES THIS STAGE SPECIAL

Reaching the top of Montserrat by bike after five days riding through Barcelona’s natural parks feels special. The monastery appears between the massive rock formations before we tackle the final kilometres back to Terrassa.

06
DÍA 6 · REGRESO

Terrassa Aeropuerto

Why ride the Barcelona Natural Park tour with us?

Organizing the Barcelona Natural Park tour on your own means spending hours hunting for safe, quiet routes across a high-traffic region, hauling heavy panniers that ruin your road bike's agility and feel on the demanding climbs of Montseny or Montserrat, and crossing your fingers against mechanical breakdowns in the middle of a mountain pass with no cell service.

With us, you leave all that logistical hassle behind. You travel light—carrying only what you need for the day's stage—with the peace of mind that a support vehicle is waiting at key points with cold water and food, and the confidence of riding in a small group where everyone helps each other up every pass. We get you physically prepared before you leave and ride alongside you on the road so your only job is to lift your head, breathe in the mountain air, and enjoy the descent.

Small Group

Maximum 8 riders. Small enough to ride like a group of friends, not like an organised tour.

Pre-Trip Training

Personalised training plan included, so you arrive in Vietnam prepared and ready to enjoy every stage.

WE RIDE WITH YOU

We don’t just hand you a GPX file and disappear. We ride alongside you through all six stages, setting the pace for the group.

Support Vehicle

Support van during every stage, plus luggage transfer. If you need to stop, your journey keeps moving.

Accommodation with local character

Hotels and locally selected accommodation chosen to help you rest well while still experiencing Vietnam after each stage.

Transfers Included

We pick you up in Hanoi and take care of all transfers throughout the expedition until we return to the city.
